New initiative led by the Cross River Partnership helping local businesses procure more sustainably
Supply Cross River is a new initiative led by the Cross River Partnership with the aim of helping small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) overcome the hurdles of modern day procurement processes.
Funded by the London European Regional Development Fund programme and the Boroughs of Westminster, Lambeth, Southwark and the City of London, Supply Cross River provides free support and events for both procurement professionals and local SMEs who want to better compete for upcoming contracts.
Supply Cross River also support large organisations to open up their supply chain opportunities to local and diverse businesses. As part of this project, the team is able to provide procurement professionals with help and support in writing and implementing a sustainable procurement policy as well as in sourcing local qualified and diverse SME's that could fulfill relevant contracts.
Procurement professionals based in the region are also invited to join Meet the Buyers events, which provide a unique opportunity to meet a range of local innovative suppliers, matched to specific purchasing requirements, who can help reduce negative impacts of the supply chain. The next Meet the Buyer event of 2010 will be taking place on 14th April at Glaziers Hall in London Bridge.
All events and advisory services are free of charge to qualifying businesses.
