The new publication written by Action Sustainability's Cathy Berry - The Sustainable Procurement Guide: Procuring Sustainably Using BS8903 - was launched in February at AS's first annual conference "Sustainable Procurement: A New Era", which took place on Thursday 10 February at Sainsburys' HQ in Holborn, London.
The book, which is the first of its kind, is essentially a "how to be great at sustainable procurement" guide, translating sustainability into a context that will resonate with procurement professionals. The book takes challenging sustainability concepts such as climate change, "global-to-local" sourcing or ethical labour standards and sets out how they can be transformed into business objectives that can be delivered through all the tiers of a company's supply chain. The book highlights case studies that demonstrate examples of good practice, showing the puzzled professional how they can effectively deliver sustainability through their procurement activities.
The book is priced at £30 - to purchase a copy, please contact Leanne Elliott.
