Shaun McCarthy Co-Founder and Director

Shaun is a distinguished leader in sustainable business, recognised with an OBE for his services to sustainability and the London 2012 Olympics.

Since leaving BAA PLC in 2006, Shaun has led significant initiatives, including chairing the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012, the world’s first independent sustainability assurance body for a global sports event. He has been instrumental in developing key standards, such as the BS 8903 and ISO 20400 for sustainable procurement. 

As the co-founder of Action Sustainability, Shaun has advised numerous clients and chairs the Supply Chain Sustainability School. He also founded the not-for-profit platform www.iso20400.org, advancing global knowledge in sustainable procurement.

Shaun’s influence extends through his roles as Sustainability Advisor to Transport for London, non-executive advisor to Tarmac, and Trustee of the Greenshoots Foundation Trust. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (FIEMA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).
